[openbox] Dual monitors in openbox

You were right about the lxpanel part. I don't know that it can recognize
dual monitors, so I switched to xfce4-panel. That solved that issue.
Now about openbox, I'm still having the issue with the dead space. Perhaps I
set something up wrong, which is very possible. How would I go about fixing
this?

The first part of your problem sounds like you might be experiencing some
dead area[1]. I didn't think this was a problem in Openbox, but maybe I'm
wrong.
The second part of your problem I don't think is related to Openbox. It's up
to lxpanel to recognize a multi monitor setup. Tint2 has support for
multiple monitors (as does the panels in KDE and Gnome).
