Hello Ben,

the obconf utility really is a surprise :)

from what was in the latest beta, this is quite a progress.
its simple and functional and sure easy to understand.

PS:

To save the settings to the rc.xml in the users home
directory, you may want to have a look at xslt; attached
stylesheet changes the number of desktops. it would take me
about an hour or two, to write one, that has all the
parameters, obconf cares about.

in a shell, test with:

xsltproc --param number_of_desktops 15 num.xsl rc.xml |grep number
