Dock question

Hi guys,

I had sent out an email yesterday but since I have not seen it posted 
yet, I decided to re-send it.

My question is that I have never gotten a "dock" into which applications 
can "dock" themselves.  I have not even changed the default rc3 file. Am 
I missing something here?
