Now I think I know what your on about.

If the OS moves the process from CPU #1 to CPU #2 when
CPU #2 needs from "details" about said process it doesn't have to
go back to main memory etc to get it; it can (if still available)
transfer that information direct using its hypertransport link from
  CPU #1.

That's the rough gist of it and what makes Opterons scale better
than P4's that and each CPU has a dedicated link to its own
memory ( when configured correctly ). N.B. This will happen on
any Opteron MB its not specific to Tyan.

Have a good Christmas everyone :)

You are 100 percent correct and I thank you for the correction. I was semi correct =o) . Spoke to one of the Techies who just confirmed the OS has a lot to do with it. He also said, by default, the chip is looking for the connection, even without the OS Scheduler. Now that doesn't make sense to me at all.

I thank you for all your help also in the past, as it has saved me countless hours of research! =o)

Big Italian Famiglia here! Be stuffing my face with some fine cusine!

Merry Christmas All and to all a safe Holiday!
