But TOP does at least give you a rough calculation of the CPU usage,
even if it is not that accurate.

	I wish we could.  But Top is broken in most versions of Linux.
The gurus here can explain the technical side better than I can, but

Why develop a new tool when you can use putty as the cpu monitor. Just
login and type "top" and it will show you the CPU usage!
