I think that's what everyone is doing at the moment on Mac OS X. We
should fix that.
fwiw: I don't have fink installed; I might have built libxml1 from
source and disabled localization, though.
Also: don't forget to do "make setup.carbon" instead of plain "make" or
you'll try to build things that don't build on the Mac.
The Mac build process isn't terribly Mac-like right now. Also worth
fixing. :)
On the list of dramatic changes, after switching to Subversion, might be
switching from autotools to CMake...which will build both Unix makefiles
and real XCode projects from fairly simplistic textfiles, solving this
problem.
