Release?

Hello. Sorry if this has been asked before, I can't seem to find the
archive for this mailing list. I've just created a Gentoo ebuild to
download Freespace2 from CVS and compile it from source. It works great
but the devs over there really don't like CVS ebuilds. They would
prefer to use actual releases, or failing that, we would make our own
CVS snapshots. Would it be possible to start putting out some releases?
This project has been going for some time and it certainly works well
enough to warrant a release. I know there is Ravage's installer but
this is very outdated and we require the sources. I was very pleased to
see (or should I say hear?) that the music now works. (-: This is one
of my favorite things about Freespace (I don't have the sequel). Here
is the bugzilla entry about the ebuild if you're interested.

While I'm here, I'm experiencing some minor graphical corruption, I
don't know if it's common or not. When viewing the cutscenes from the
menu, the menu flickers in the background while the cutscene plays. And
if I press escape during a mission and move the mouse over the HUD, the
mouse pointer leaves flickering copies of itself behind. This must be
some kind of double buffering issue.

Cheers,
James
