I would hope that we can have a better backwards-compatibility story than "half
the $GAME players and servers query/are listed as DP, the other half as Q3
despite being otherwise network-compatible, and you have to configure
com_useDpmasterProtocol to be in the same half of the world as your friends"
(where values of $GAME include "OpenArena 0.8.x" and "Quake III Arena 1.32 or
later").
(One additional backwards-compat problem is that current versions of OpenArena
wrongly use the same sv_heartbeat as Quake III Arena - but with a different
protocol number - and that can't usefully be fixed until OA next breaks network
compatibility.)
