I've never had any problem with the two quake2 demos...  Wrong gamei386.so
being used?   I'll try out the big gun level.

I think the Big Gun level is about midway through the game.

I know Quest (http://quest-ed.sourceforge.net/) can do Quake 2, but I haven't
tried it yet.
