[openbox] suspending "kills" the screen

I suspect this has nothing to do with openbox.  Suspend from lid.sh has been
very unreliable for me.  I gave up on it years ago, before I switched to
openbox.  I suspend manually, then close the lid.

What is your graphics hardware?
