Except that it's not, of course, Arial and Arial Unicode being different
fonts... which you'd have known if you googled, as I suggested. The
msttcorefonts package includes Arial, not Arial Unicode.
How to know if you have Arial Unicode? It's an ~24 mb TTF file:
[ 7:56 pm][pts/564][../mwilson/unicode]
rei $ ls -l arialuni*
-rw-r--r-- 1 mwilson mwilson 24131012 1999-01-12 00:59 arialuni-v084.ttf
-rw-r--r-- 1 mwilson mwilson 24131012 2003-02-14 09:08 arialuni-v085.ttf
-rw-r--r-- 1 mwilson mwilson 24172892 2002-09-01 17:32 arialuni-v086.ttf
-rw-r--r-- 1 mwilson mwilson 23274572 2000-11-30 15:40 arialuni-v100.ttf
Note the difference in sizes as the version of the font changes. There is
supposedly a still later release of it, but I don't have it.
The basic Arial font has wildly incomplete unicode support, although most
of the basics are there.
