arial is available here: http://corefonts.sourceforge.net/

for debian users: apt-get install msttcorefonts

arial is provided with either of the above.  (actually the debian
package is really just a script to download the fonts from sf.net.)

unless there was a non-unicode version of arial distributed by
microsoft, the above is what you want.
