obpager on startup?

A question to any obpager users among you.

I just downloaded, compiled, and installed obpager last night.  It's
kind of bland, but it works.  The only problem I'm having with it is
that it won't start automatically when I log back in.  I have it in my
.xsession (all of my other .xsession apps start just fine).  obpager
will start if I run it from a terminal after X is up and running.
