[openbox] focus behavior slow?

I have a 1000MHz machine with 384M of RAM.  Also have an ATI radeon vid.

I don't think the machine is too slow.  Does it matter that I have more that 7 terms open at any on time?  It seems to happen the most with xterm windows.
