I disable focusLast. I pretty much hate it when the WM tries to be
smart about which one of my windows should be focused, when I, the
user, have a perfectly good (and quick!) mechanism for focusing my own
windows. Placement is one thing to be smart about. Focus is not. I
cringe whenever I close a window (with a keybinding) thinking it would
be focused, while the wm had focused some other window, totally
unrelated to the screen area I was working in.
OSX for example (*grin*) doesn't do any kind of focus fallback. You
close an app, nothing else gets focused. You click the root window,
the focused app gets unfocused.
Besides, focusLast, for me anyway, has had a miss rate of close to
100%. It never focuses the window that I'm going to use next--I have
to do my own focusing regardless.
Tralala.
