I have a focus delay of 250 milliseconds, enough to move the mouse across 
the screen without changing focus, but not so large that i can type in the 
wrong window by accident unless i really try to :). I absolutely loathe 
auto-raise, i don't even raise windows when clicking in them, only on the 
titlebar or mod4-click.
