As spog stated, if you hit escape, the changes are dropped, this is the intended
behaviour. Once you hit Apply (or press Enter), your changes are saved. If the
patch is indeed changing this default behaviour, then it would have to be at
least configured through a pref setting, but I consider the current behaviour to
be the appropriate one.
