I've had something similar long time ago. My fix was to get MemMax from http://www.analogx.com

It's a little windows tray utility that tracks (and clears on demand) physical memory usage (not swap).

Point is that I have plenty of memory, but some programs weren't cleaning up after themselves good enuf and radiant didn't like it much. Clearing phys ram (or rebooting) always fixed the problem.
