i have been working with GTKradiant nightly for several weeks, and have run
into various issues. Most of the issues i was able to track down and correct
through much searching and trial and error.
Heres my problem, hope i am directing this to the right people. Please let me
know to whom i should direct questions of this sort if i am in error :)
I am working on "piLLcity CTF'. I have provided a link to a pk3 for testing.
http://q3center.com/php-bin/getfile2.inc/104888/pillcityctf.pk3
when i am compiling the map, i get 25 messeges in a row of the error: "Node
with unbound volume". (NWUV)
The map seems to BSP ok, and Vlight as well. I havnt run a full VIS on it yet
until i correct the errors.
I have done several searches for anything regarding NWUV, and have come up with
only one reference to correcting it. One site i found said to use gtkradiant to
compile the map (instead of q3build for example) and it would select the nodes
for me and let me delete them, but I have had no luck. Can i just go in and
remove the nodes manually with a text editor? Since i was told to use
GTKradiant to remove them, maybe gtkR isnt detecting them when it should be? If
I can find out what is causing the error, you can determine what i am doing in
GTKradinat that is making invalid stuff.
If you look at the map, it is one of the biggest, most impressive quake3 maps
out there. I want to get it running so i can release the map (and get a job!).
It is a good test of your tools as it is quite large and addresses many aspects
of the quake3 engine simultaneously. The map is within normal bounds, its not a
complete q3 choker.
Please email me any suggestion, this has been a huge problem for me, my future
as a level designer depends on fixing this problem! :)
Thank you so much, i would pay you guys $$$ for what you do, if i could!
Sincerely,
Scott McCall
