[ut2004] Will the linux version run on AMD Processors?

I had the same problems as you, so I did some searching and I got this
from Linuxgames.com:
ln -s /usr/lib/libGL.so.1
ln -s /usr/lib/libGLcore.so.1
and initiate ut2004 with
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/tls/libGL.so.1
ut2004demo
