[ut2004] Why is my Unreal Tournament 2004 not working!!!???

Im a linux newb but i have the x86 nvidia driver....I cant install it
unless i am in text mode...which i have no idea how to shut my x server
down and go into text mode then reboot the x server (see told you i was
newb) 

I am running the most up 2 date version of redhat 9
