ut2k3 problems

Evening

I'm having a problem getting 2k3 to work
underwindowmaker while in runlevel 3, when using
runlevel 5 it works flawlessly.

Each time I attempt to startup 2k3 I receive this
error Error: Could not open /dev/nvidiactl because the
permissions
are too resticitive. 

plus a list of backtrace errors.

any help appeciated
