issues with glibc-2.3

Is there any known issues with UT2003 and glibc2.3?  I am running debian
unstable and am having problems where I can't even play one match before it gets
all choppy and freezes.  If I am ssh'd into this box from another on the network
I can see that XFree86 is trying to use all available CPU, and have downgraded
to 4.2 with no luck.  I have patched UT up to 2166, and tried damn near
everything I can think of.
