For those that need this:

There's a new Linux demo for UT2003, which basically brings the codebase 
up to the 2199 retail version.

Use loki_update if you've got a previous version installed (as the user 
that installed the game, run the "loki_update" binary in the game's 
"updater" folder). The patch is about 53 megabytes.

For those that don't have the demo installed, the full demo with 
installer is here:

This demo version does not require GL drivers with S3TC support, but to 
my knowledge DRI still doesn't render the game well (although people are 
  looking into fixing the drivers).
