Sound question.

Not really UT2003 related, but maybe someone
has a hint? (this list has been a great resource).

I went out and grabbed a SB Audigy to replace
the on-board i810 sound on my client box.

I am running a stock Slackware install, and I know
that there is support for emu10k1 in the kernel
source. My question is: Do I have to re-compile
the kernel after enabling emu10k1 in menuconfig?

The is what I get when trying to do a modprobe:
(the file /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1/emu10k1.o.gz

$ modprobe emu10k1
	init_module: No such device

Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.

insmod /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1/emu10k1.o.gz

/lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1/emu10k1.o.gz: insmod
emu10k1 failed

Thanks in advance...
