sound problems with 2136 patch

Hi,

With the 2136 patch I have sound problems when playing over the
network, everything sounds like being played from a scratched
record. This does not happen for local games against bots. I have
SuSE 8.1 with alsa and a SB Live. With the oss module the problem
goes away but why does it happen with alsa and why only in network
games?

BTW, is it normal that the frame rate does not exceed 50FPS for
network games?
