Zip - out of memory error.

Hi, 
 i downloaded newest version, compiled it and then i ran test program.
When i am trying to addToSearchPath (or what's its real name) a zip file
i experience out of memory error. ;-/ 
I am running linux redhat 8.0, compiling using gcc 3.2
ziping with zip
"Copyright (C) 1990-1999 Info-ZIP
Type 'zip "-L"' for software license.
Zip 2.3 (November 29th 1999)."

what i am doing wrong? Thanks for any help.
