Hey Ryan,

Actually, there is a cool project sponsored by OSDL,
called the xdg-utils project. It has a nice script,
xdg-menu, that should make all of this nice and easy to
implement.

I've been meaning to get around to adding a patch to Loki
to make use of the xdg-utils, and just have been horribly busy.

Here's a useful guide to xdg-utils:
  http://webcvs.freedesktop.org/portland/portland/xdg-utils/README?rev=1.4&view=markup

Cheers,

Jeremy
