I ask this on occasion, thought I'd do so again, since it's my last 
installer issue in this project's bug tracker:

Does loki_setup's Gnome/KDE menu installation work for anyone? I can't 
get it to work reliably on any distro I've tried at this point, but 
after much Googling, I can't find anything that says "this is exactly 
how you programmatically install a menu on Gnome", so I don't know if 
it's a lost cause (in which case, I'm hiding the install-menu-items 
checkbox).

Extra credit for making this work both system-wide and for individual users.

Anyone have any insight here?
