UT99 troubles

No, google IS NOT my friend. :)

I'm running Gentoo Linux, trying to install UT99 (non-GOTY).  If it 
matters, my copy of UT came with my Creative Labs soundcard. 

Anyway, I'm using ut-install-436.  I get this output during the install:

ERROR: No matching delta for /usr/local/games/ut/System/Editor.u

...but the install completes as normal.

When I try to run the game (either as root or my NPU)  I get the following
