this is configured by the "prefix" entry in .game files
it doesn't create map/, it will create ~/.q3a/baseq3 though

This would be a minor annoyance the first time you save a map, but under linux
it doesn't even point you to the homepath ( ~/.q3a ), instead it points you to
the basepath

I don't think it's worth bothering about creating the map/ dir at this point.
Fixing the default prompt path first would be relevant.
