Just check if /usr/include/GL/ folder is there. If not, you must
install a GL library depending on your graphics card, i.e.:

- look if Matrox offers own accelerated GL bindings
- NVidia provides some
- use Mesa package for Mandrake, this is the generic open version

After installation,nthe libraries must be known to the linker, thus
running ldconfig as root may solve your problem.

Although i am using GNOME, your error shall not be related to GNOME or
KDE libs.
Another problem may be that SDL is directly used as a frontend to some
basic OpenGL functions. Ensure you have a most recent libSDL
installed. Version >1.2.0.
