[freespace2] MacOS X model loading works!

I have never heared ambient sound/music in Linux Freespace2.
When looking at src/sound/audiostr.cpp I see things like this:

[Lots of code that seems like Windows DirectMusic stuff]

So I thought it was not ported yet?
Or am I missing a switch in the Makefile?
