"hello, world!"
yet another newbee signed in ;>

i'm using ~ week old cvs version of fs2 with full version data files.
i have 4 questions regarding it ..
1) is movie support stripped permanently?
2) is it normal that i most of time get very wierd mouse behaviour when
it's used as controller ingame (like ship turning all time in one
direction like mouse dragged and stuck in upper-right corner). only way
to workarround it i found - all fine if i launched second X server with
resolution game uses and i didn't used fullscreen option.
3) will it help to enlarge mouse sensitivity if i fiddle with xset or
tweak XF86Config ? any hints/examples regarding that? i hate to use
keyboard numpad periodically only to get faster ship turning rates ..
4) is 1024x768 max resolution for game? i unsuccessfully tried setting
1600x1200 in cfg file..

my sys: p4-1.6/sdram512mb/gf4/somewhat pre 8.1
slackware-current/XF-4.2/nvidia latest binaries/alsa 0.9rc3/glibc2.2.4

regarding 2nd question/problem
running fs2 on 2nd server 1024x768 at 24bit depth with something like:
#!/bin/sh
/usr/X11R6/bin/xinit /bin/sh -c "( cd /c/Games/FreeSpace2 ;
/usr/X11R6/bin/xauth add :1 . `/usr/bin/mcookie` ; DISPLAY=:1
/c/Games/FreeSpace2/freespace2 ; /usr/X11R6/bin/xauth remove :1 )" --
-depth 24 -xf86config XF86Config.1024 :1
all this in one line .. ugly of course ;> .. XF86Config.1024 is one were
1024x768 is max defined resolution.

btw, imho running any fullscreen game on another X server has it's
advantages .. eg. being able to switch to desktop's X server without
closing/quiting game .. at least for me it's one of the reasons i run
native or doze stuff under winex .. and lesser possibility to bring down
main X11 server if some opengl lockups experienced ..

maybe joystick is meant to be native controller for this game, but it
would be nice to see better usuable mouse aswell. especially as i it's
only one i have && am used to.

P.S. regarding this mailing list .. is it's archives available on web
somewhere?
