[cod] number of linux vs windows servers?

Actually - The multiplayer aspect of the games makes them a whole lot more.

Think about all the things we as gamers do for the companies.

We provide the servers - We convince our other friends and family to buy the
games.

This is how they make serious money. People like me who convince 75 members
of a clan to go out and buy the game because I think it is great.

So in all aspects when I am convincing people to go buy a game it is not
because of the Single player - It is because of the Multiplayer. Single
player is cool and all - but in order to game with my friend I have to play
MP -

If they were simply focused on selling a Single Player game - They would
incorporate COOP.

So I truly believe that MP is a like a whole other department for them. They
still make a killing either way.

I still know people that only bought the game for MP and have never tried
the Single Player.

They why don't they do it for all their games? I am not so sure that is the
case. I believe that they, just like IW, consider multiplayer as an
"add-on" to a game. They get their revenue from selling single player
games.

Its in Activision's interests to continue to develop a linux client seeing
as we the community provide the servers which they generate revenue from by
providing a multiplayer aspect of the game.

Then why do they care about linux binaries at all? If they don't develop
for it, why bother to "QA" the binary? Even a blind man could see the
reason. <rant off>. I know, not a place for the rants, but every time a
patch is released we go through the same old s***. We run the games and
ATVI knows it. They really don't care what we think, want, or need. We
will run them with what they give us. Simple as that.

Because from the point of view of IW (and Activision guys who are for sure
MS-paid ^^) linux is not the platform they develop for, and so they don't
support it. It's pretty miraculous that we have linux binaries for our
prefered games, and it's not because of Activision interests :(

Look at the lack of servers last night i'd guess there are more linux vs
windows!

Why didn't they just wait for the linux patch to be done then release them
all together?!?!?!?

If the delays keep up we'll be switching all our Linux servers to Windows

what we want!

Have we got any news.......
