[cod] IS COD and other FPS's DEAD? On topic and off topic unfortunately!

Not sure I necessarily agree with the console thing tbh. I actually
find quite a number of console players start off with a console game,
and as they "get into it" they often move onto the PC version of that
game if available as they can. Some console players naturally never
will, but its rare to find a PC gamer moving into the console market
to play an equivalent fps game (but naturally they will play other
games, where the consoles do have an edge). Thats not to say once the
console market develops and you get proper keyboards/mice etc that
work with the games that won't happen more.

Clan wise, pretty much all games start to tail off at a certain time,
but if you're to actually look at the amount of people playing COD is
as busy as ever really, same with ET, ut2k4 is actually still slowly
growing. BF1942 shows how a game can quickly change though, was really
popular, now dying fast. So really I think it just depends on the
game, definitely not dead or dying as a genre yet, I actually think it
will continue to grow slowly. I do wish a few more games would come
out that weren't WWII/hitscan based though, can't help but feel a lack
of imagination (which may be an issue) is stifling it a bit.
