[cod] Now what ...Am I missing something

PB will work either way... With a .callofduty folder or as a sub in the same
location as "main" (or "uo"). I've run it both ways. All that matters is
where the games looks and that there's PB files there.

Using the start string "+set fs_homepath /path/to/stuff/here" will force
where the game looks for its configs and PB and suppress the creation of the
.callofduty folder. If you don't use it, CoD will create the .callofduty
folder structure and populate it with files (logs, pb screenshots). It
won't actually copy in all the needed PB files.

If you use the .callofduty/pb method and PB shows as disabled even though
you're used "+set sv_punkbuster 1" in your start script, then you need to
populate that directory will all the PB files. Easiest way to do that is to
download the PBWEB util from Even Balance:
http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=updatepb.php
