[bf1942] BF2 news on Slashdot [OT]

Maybe you should re-examine your priorites, if playing the game is what you 
really like to do.  Wait six months and let other people do the debugging.

Afraid I don't buy the "but what if everyone had that attitude" argument in 
favor of free beta testing of a company's software.  I say, if everyone had 
my selfish attitude, they would be forced to have decent testing/product 
planning procedures and I might not have to wait six months for the stable 
release.

Don't get me wrong--I work for a software company--I don't expect bug-free 
code at any point in the development cycle.  But there ARE best practices 
in existence for the software industry TODAY that will gaurantee at least 
that there is nothing truly embarrassing or show-stopping in a first release.

Anyone who gives EA feedback on this, considering all the stupid bugs it 
has, is a sucker.
