that would be very cool.  but frankly it would take even more than that to 
make me buy it (well actually that's utter nonsense, i'll buy anything, but 
i think i'm more the exception than the rule).

I would be more impressed to see massive upgrades around two years from 
now.  These are cool things, but still incremental to the engine, on the 
order of many other games out there, not to mention the expansion packs to 
bf1942.

perhaps you're leaving out a lot of interesting stuff (and i wouldn't blame 
you).  i would hope, however, that some of these things would become 
available to the current mod developers (such as homing missiles for DC).

BF1942 was and still is revolutionary IMO compared to other games in 
several fundamental ways.  It's successor should be as impressive, at least 
on the level  that Quake3 was to Quake2, which more than anything was 
simply an improved engine.  Adding bells and whistles is nice, though...
