Not to mention replying to a topic instead of starting a new one, and 
quoting a relatively large message in its entirety from that topic.

Back when the Internet was the province of nerds and geeks, before the Web 
with its graphic content turned it into interactive TV, there used to be a 
"bozo" mailing list, and whenever some clueless user would send an 
unsubscribe message to a list, people would sign him up for the bozo list.
