[bf1942] The "bungie effect"

Yep, i totally agree.

The makers or companies who earn all the money from ppl buying bf1942,
should take notice that the majority of ISP's and game server hosting
companies run linux as their favoured server. There is no need to go into
why this is the case, we all know the benefits of using linux as a dedicated
server. (hopefully)

There are alot of hosting companies out there that will not put buggy-beta
software on their live systems, which is limiting them to only using the
windows server, and at best only putting up a minimal number of servers.
This also prevents alot of companies from offering rentable bf1942 servers.

Wouldnt it just stand to logic to develop the linux version more
comprehensively NOW!!, to capitalise on bf1942's current popularity.

I dunno, but i can certainly understand the frustrations ppl are having in
the bf1942 and hosting community around the world. BF1942 is a great game,
but so far has been severely let down on the support and development side.
(no need to go into the patches which created pseudo wall hacks, at which
some ladder competitions had to be put on hold until that was fixed)
