Well said Rick!! I am one of those recovering MCSEs. I am currently in a
Linux twelve step program, and although I have made considerable progress, I
still consider myself a newbie. If you really want Linux to take its
rightful place at the top do not alienate the beginners.

Well said...
<rant>While I get just as irritated as everyone else when new people ask
questions without the slightest bit of research, we must keep in mind that
everyone was new to linux once. We must also keep in mind that very few of
us know -everything-, including myself. Offhand flaming of people we
perceive as newbs is one of those things that will keep Winblows servers
tainting our datacenters forever. So do us all a favor, and lull those
MCSE's into our midst with kindness and forgiving, then de-program them
when BillG isn't looking. Once won over, they become some of the
staunchest linux supporters. If they prove that they're not willing to do
any of their own research, even after repeated application of the
ClueBat(tm), then tell em to piss off, as they are too stupid to want in
our datacenter anyway.
