Latest build

Hello all,

I finally got some time to play with the latest build (1040889129) and do
some real testing. System specs are: PIII 450, 256MB, 1.5 up/down 'net
connection, DMZ'd through router, running Debian Testing. I'm testing with
a single connection, and mainly flying planes around.

First of all, with the latest build I now get the following after the
server comes up:
"gamespy: trying to bind to 255.255.255.255, port 23000."

I would assume that it should be trying to bind to my IP instead of
255.255.255.255? I get this whether I specify my public IP in
ServerSettings.con or leave it blank. Any other things I should try for
this?

With this build I can't see my server in ASE or in the in-game browser,
but I havn't tried gamespy since I don't have it installed. If I go into
the in-game browser and go to 'Add Server' I can specify my public IP and
'Join' the game, but I can't 'Add' the server (it says it can't find it).
Oh, and if I specify 'game.serverInternet 0' to make just a lan game, I
can't see that game in the in-game 'local' browser anymore either.

Anyway, if I 'Join' the game it seems to run fine for a while. (I havn't
tested water maps yet, i'll do that next). I don't have any lag and it
is fine for flying around and bombing very smoothly, etc. No more seg.
faults either. The problems start after a few rounds have gone by. It
starts getting choppy even tho it shows my ping as 1 or 0 the whole time.
I don't get the "Warning: Connection Problems Detected" message much
anymore (even when play is choppy). It gets progressivly choppier as I let
the server run. I also have infrequent and seeminly random client crashes
(usually after the server has been running a while) after about 5 to 10
minutes of being connected. Also, every once in a while I will get
"Disconeccetd" from the server, but I'm able to join up right away again.

One last thing, the remote admin stuff doesn't seem to working, atleast
for me. I have a ServerAutoExec.con with the
following:
admin.enableRemoteAdmin <passwd>
admin.enableremoteconsole <login> <passwd>

Now when I go into the in-game console and use 'admin.enableRemoteAdmin
<passwd>' it doesn't return an error or anything so I assume it worked,
but if I put in the wrong password it doesn't give me an error so
something is wrong for sure. Then when I do something like:
'admin.execremotecommand "admin.setNextMap <map_name>"' it returns a 1,
previous builds returned a 0 for me. And then it doesn't go to the map I
specified, it just goes to the next in the cycle from maplist.con. Is this
how the admin commands are supposed to
work?

The RemoteConsole does, however, work fine.

Sorry this is a little long, but hopefully it'll help narrow down these
problems.
