This is fantastic news, may I also extend my thanks to Andrew Church.
At this point, what I'd particularly like to see is a release tarball.
Just the sources will suffice. Otherwise I'll have to host a tarball
myself for Gentoo to use as "live" ebuilds are generally not eligible
for the tree.

Here's the data prefix patch I sent. It still applies cleanly.
