I don't really have any really strong feelings either way, but you're probably
right. We haven't tended to touch the renderer code much anyway, so I suspect
the benefits of sharing the code probably aren't that great in the first place.
I do have vague plans to do an OpenGL ES renderer at some point, which should
be much more trivial a prospect and probably would be best done with ifdefs.
