No, two keyboards.  With two USB connections, two /dev/input* interfaces,  
two entries in lshw, etc.

Are you able to reproduce the issue (perhaps using a spare keyboard)?  You  
can plug a single USB keyboard into a laptop, for example.  Chains will  
break prematurely.
