[openbox] slideshow

Hi everyone, it's been a while ;-)
I'm trying to script a simple slideshow from a directory of pictures.
Geeqie [1] has a mode which does exactly that, and it can be initiated
by command line pramaters, which is ideal. But unfortunately, I see
different behavior depending on whether I run it from within a shell
window, or from an openbox menu. The former works perfectly, the
slideshow happens on a full size window that is also above all other
windows, so it basically looks like a screensaver, exactly what I want.
But in the other case (from a menu), the normal geeqie window with a
titlebar and all stays visible. I have tried the trick of placing it
offscreen, with something like
--geometry=900x600+0-600
but that seems to have no effect, it is placed at +0+0 instead.
I don't necessarily blame openbox for this :-) but it seems to be
involved in some way. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
