[openbox] dual monitors with different heights

hello, i'm using an X configuration with dual monitors: a laptop
screen and external monitor. vertical resolution of external monitor
is 1024, laptop is only 768. so i set virtual size to 1024 (greater
value). in effect however on a laptop screen i get an invisible area
256px high. is it possible to restrict mouse cursor from entering this
area (same as windows does it)? is this a task X or openbox should
handle this?
