[openbox] modal windows with virtual desktops causing lockup ?

ah, this looks pretty hairy to generate a test-case for. sylpheed-claws
has done it twice , but that is in the past month. If it is related to
modals I should be able to make a test program. But that is wishful
thinking.

next time this happens I will attach gdb and try and generate some
useful information.
