Mikael, what's the interest in doing this?  I'd patch it myself if I 
didn't have 22 units (7 classes) and two jobs to deal with (and my C 
weren't quite so rusty).  I'd really love to see this added for 3.3.  
Perhaps if I can help with other parts of the project (docs or
quick-and-easy minor patches) would you have the time needed to do this?
